Security
All ships of cruise lines are heavily protected with security by
day and night. Even scuba diver checking under bottom before
leaving the port. So to make the safest as possible for all
guests. Be advise all baggage will be inspected by camera and
will be opened if necessary.
Passport
Beginning January 2007, everyone are required to show
passport. Just driver license and birth certification are not
acceptable any longer. For more details of passport,
processing require 6 to 8 weeks. Be sure to prepare in ahead
of time before going on cruise trip.
What different between group and individual?
Group rate are already discount. Individual rate are higher.
Both get same services in the ship. However anyone who not
purchased tickets thru The Sunset Cruise Agency are advised
not to use their services. Because agents working hard
arranging and finding interpreters. Setting up a large number of requests
and paperwork for the group. It won’t b e fair for any outside
to join and using the service without paying any contribution
for the service. But will allow using interpreters for
emergencies.
Roommates?
If you are single and is in needed for a roommate. You or we
can seek for a roommate. Be advise, to pay the deposit soon as
possible, the early the more chance we can get roommates. We
don’t place opposite sex in cabin without the permission of the
guest in cabin.
How is the cruise rate charge?
All cruise rate is based on double occupants. Meaning every
cabin comes with 2 beddings. If single (no roommate), the rate
would be either 150% or 200% (more like a double rate). Most
cabin can hold up to 4 people. There is 3rd or 4th guest rate.
That’s more saving if people want to share a cabin.
What is gratuities?
The gratuities is what all staffs such as busboy, waiter, cabin
steward earn for their serving to the guests. This is only
income they working hard and so many hours everyday. There
will be vouchers in the cabin at end cruise, place money cash in
there. If you are doing pre-paid gratuities, please check the
cruise tickets, do not throw it away…look carefully. Its
important to show our appreciate to those staffs as they earn
their gratuities.
Can I have my own group with date and choice of
itinerary?
Yes, you can set up your own date, your own name of group
with your choice of itinerary to go to. If you wish, we can put
your group in our website, let other people see and perhaps
join your group. Just contact and we will work with you.
Tell me about the airfare?
Most cruise lines have contracts with many airlines which is
available to go with cruise package. The airfare is a round trip
with air taxes and air fees. Including transportation between
airport and cruise port. Also with baggage/guide assistances.
What about overnight hotel package?
Most cruise lines do offer packages like overnight hotel
before or after cruise. Sometimes packages comes with tours
and meals. Often including transfer between hotel, airport and
cruise port. Contact the agency for details.
What about food and beverage?
Cruise packages comes with full course meals, buffets, 24 hrs
pizzeria and most beverage are included. Alcoholic and soda
are additional cost. Waiter can deliver meals to your cabin at
no cost. If there special meal such as diabetic or Jewish
…special menu can be requested. All food menu are nautical
health program.
How much money should I spend?
Cash, travel checks, credit card or check?
Suggest for you to bring 2 different kind of credit card. You
can bring travel checks which is more safer. You can bring
cash, but cannot use it on the ship. You will be given a sail card,
when you check in aboard the ship. Instruction will be given. If
people love to spend shopping or lots of tours. You will get list
of tour prices, to help you to decide how much to bring. Advise
you to contact for details few months before go on sailing.
Every thing update every year.
What about activities and entertainments?
All fun activities such as swimming, ping pong, volleyball, game
board, dances, SPA full equipments and library and plus many
more. All are free. You have plenty choices to participates.
Casino and 1st run movie as well. All cabin come with closed caption
TV.
Can we do the wedding at the cruise?
Yes, definitely you can. It’s something different, exciting and
romancing. Contact for details.
What about children?
There are fun activities and excellent programs for children
age from 2 to 16 yrs old. That will keep them entertain while
adults can go and enjoy. More details, please contact the
agent. Every ship has different offerings.
What kind of clothing should we bring?
Casual clothing during day. Wear comfort to match the climate.
Evening clothes for dinning and some do 2 or 3 formal nights a
week. Usually 2 night for 7 days and 3 night for 10 and more
days. Formal night meaning lots of photos.
Check with agent for details.
What if I get seasick?
You can immediately go to the infirmary, nurse will have you a
patch on your neck. Or some pills. Then you will do fine for the
rest of the week.
What I forgot something like toothpaste?
There are some duty-free shopping on the ships.
Can I wash my own clothes during sailing?
Yes, there is laundry facility with coin operated on every deck
of ship just like any hotel.
How am I going to wake up in the morning?
Should I bring my own alarm?
During cruise, some people prefer to bring their own alarm.
However cruise lines do provided fire alarm, bed vibrator wake
up alarm, door bell flashing and tdd devices in each cabin. And
as for the hotel, most hotel do same thing. Check with the
agency.
I need to keep my medicine cool.
Most cruise line infirmary do have cold container that keep
medicine cool. Some cabin come with ref. There. We will get
special form to fill out and work with you. Check details with
agency.
Will there be interpreter during cruise?
Yes, an interpreter will be provided for group….approximately
10-20 guests or up. And a host or hostess will be there. If less
than 20 guests, a letter will be sent out to every guests, let
them know about interpreter availability with choice to
continue cruise or cancel. If choose cancel, the money will be
100% refunded with no penalty fee. All interpreters are ASL
signing skills and licensed. Will be using voice if any hearing
person in the group.
Should we bring passport?
Yes, it’s a must. More details at Security and Passport section.
What is protection insurance?
Its an insurance with 4 part coverage. Not required, but suggestion.
a. travel arrangement protection
b. medical protection
c. baggage protection
d. worldwide emergency assistance
Be advise most (foreign) countries do not accept U.S. health insurance.
This insurance information will be provided once purchased and received
cruise package. Contact for details.
What type of payment should I use and to whom or what?
The payment can be paid by personal check, cashier check or money order
or credit card. No cash please.
